Privacy policy

How Lumina handles the data of academy owners, students, and website visitors.

This policy explains how Lumina handles data on luminaedu.ai and on the learning platforms it runs. Lumina lets teachers and academies create their own learning platform with courses, exams, students, and payments.

Who is responsible for the data

  • Your account and subscription orders: Lumina is responsible for this data, which concerns academy owners and website visitors.
  • Each academy's students: the academy is responsible. It decides what to collect and how to use it, and Lumina processes the data on its behalf to run the platform. If you are a student, contact your academy first about your data.

What we collect

  • Account holder: name, email, phone number if you enter it, and an encrypted password.
  • Academy: its name, address, custom domain if any, admin and staff details, and branding.
  • Subscription and invoices: plan, amount, payment status, and invoice history. We do not store full card numbers; the payment gateway handles them.
  • Academy content: the lessons, files, videos, questions, and exams you upload.
  • Students: name, phone number, the registration fields the academy sets, enrollments, payments, progress, exam results, and device and sign-in data that helps protect content.
  • Contact requests: what you send in the demo form or support messages.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, and error and security logs.
  • AI assistant: the messages and files you send it when you use it.

How we use data

  • To create and run academies and activate plans.
  • To send verification messages, login details, invoices, and service messages.
  • To provide support and fix problems.
  • To protect the service and prevent abuse and account sharing.
  • To improve the product and comply with the law.

We do not sell personal data, we do not use one academy's student data for another academy, and we do not publish assistant conversations.

Artificial intelligence

When you use AI features, such as the assistant or extracting questions from PDF files, the text or file needed is sent to the model provider to carry out the request. Avoid entering personal data these features do not need.

Who helps process data

We use providers to run the service and share only what they need:

  • Cloudflare: protection, site delivery, and security checks.
  • Google: AI models and email delivery.
  • Bunny.net: video hosting and streaming.
  • Payment gateways: such as Fawaterak and Paymob, which process payments under their own terms.

These providers may process data outside your country. We may disclose data if the law requires it.

Cookies and browser storage

We use essential cookies and browser storage for sign-in, language, completing orders, and site protection. We do not currently use advertising cookies on luminaedu.ai.

How long we keep data

We keep data for as long as the account and subscription last and as needed to provide the service. When an account is closed, we delete data or disconnect it from you, except what must be kept by law or for disputes, such as invoices.

Protecting data

We encrypt site connections and passwords, keep each academy's data separate, and limit access by role. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong password and do not share it.

Minors

Students under the legal age may use academy platforms. The academy is responsible for obtaining guardian consent where required. Lumina customer accounts are for adults.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, or delete your data, or object to its use, as applicable law allows. Email us from your account address at [email protected]. We refer student data requests to the academy concerned.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves and will post the new date here. We tell account holders about significant changes.
